About VARO

Four People. One Point of View.

VARO was founded in 2020 by Jordan Varo, a former commercial architect who spent a decade designing buildings for other people before realizing the homes being sold in Nashville did not reflect the city he knew. Too many listings. Too little curation. Too much noise between a buyer and the home that would actually change the way they live.

The idea was simple: represent fewer homes, know them deeply, and match them with people who care about the same things we do — light, material, proportion, neighborhood. We started with a handful of listings and a conviction that quality would compound. Six years later, that conviction has held.

VARO is not a full-service brokerage. We do not try to be everything to everyone. We are four people who pay close attention to a specific corner of the Nashville market: architecturally distinctive homes for buyers who know what they are looking at.

What We Mean by Curated

When we say a home is curated, we mean it passed a filter that most listings never encounter. We evaluate every property through the lens of architecture, craftsmanship, and neighborhood trajectory. A home enters our portfolio because it has a quality — in the bones, the light, the relationship to its site — that cannot be replicated by staging or marketing.

We look for homes designed by architects, not just built by developers. Homes where material choices were deliberate. Homes in neighborhoods that are evolving in ways we can articulate and defend. And we work best with buyers who share this sensibility — people who notice the width of a window mullion or the way a staircase meets the floor.

Principles

  • Fewer listings, deeper knowledge

We represent a small portfolio so we can speak to every detail of every home.

  • Architecture first

Design quality is not a marketing angle. It is the primary criteria for what enters our portfolio.

  • Relationships over transactions

Our network of architects, builders, and developers surfaces opportunities before the market does.

  • Honest counsel

We will tell you when a home is not right. We would rather lose a sale than place someone in the wrong house.
